In meinem schwarzen Taxuswald singt ein Märchenvogel; vocal range: d#'–g#'' 5. Auf einem vergoldeten Blumenschiff; vocal range: e'–b'' Texts by Arno Holz; translated into English by Vally Weigl. Composition completed February 1905. Dedication on published score: Frau Felicie Hüni-Mihaczek freundschaftlich zugeeignet; Weigl made a point of including the dedication on the printed program of the 13 December 1934 concert in which Hüni-Mihaczek performed the work.
